How to Make Sure You Go to Heaven

You MUST accept the free gift God gives through faith in Jesus Christ!

You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer (Prayer is talking with God). God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer:

Lord Jesus, I need you. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.

Now That You Have Received Christ

The moment you received Christ by faith, as an act of the will, many things happened, including the following:

Christ came into your life (Revelation 3:20, Colossians 1:27)
Your sins were forgiven (Colossians 1:14)
You became a child of God (John 1:12)
You received eternal life (John 5:24)
You were filled with God’s Holy Spirit (John 14:16-20)
You began the great adventure for which God created you (John 10:10, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Suggestions for Christian Growth

Spiritual growth results from trusting Jesus Christ. “The righteous man shall live by faith” (Galatians 3:11). A life of faith will enable you to trust God increasingly with every detail of your life, and to practice the following:

G - Go to God in prayer daily (John 15:7)
R - Read God’s Word daily (Acts 17:11)
O - Obey God moment by moment (John 14:21)
W - Witness for Christ by your life and words (Matthew 4:19, John 15:8)
T - Trust God for every detail of your life (1 Peter 5:7)
H - Holy Spirit – allow Him to control and empower your daily life and witness (Galatians 5:16,17; Acts 1:8)

Revelation 3:20 NKJV Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

John 3:1-8 NKJV There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. (2) This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” (3) Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (4) Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” (5) Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. (6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (7) Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ (8) The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

John 11:25-26 NKJV Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. (26) And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

John 14:16-20 NKJV And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever– (17) the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. (18) I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. (19) “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. (20) At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

John 14:26-29 NKJV But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. (27) Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (28) You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I. (29) “And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe.

John 16:7-15 NKJV Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. (8) And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: (9) of sin, because they do not believe in Me; (10) of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; (11) of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. (12) “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. (13) However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. (14) He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. (15) All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

John 12:24-26 NKJV Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. (25) He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. (26) If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.

Titus 2:11-15 NKJV For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, (12) teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, (13) looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, (14) who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. (15) Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.

James 4:7-8 NKJV Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (8) Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Acts 3:19-24 NLT Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. (20) Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and He will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah. (21) For He must remain in heaven until the time for the final restoration of all things, as God promised long ago through His holy prophets. (22) Moses said, ‘The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your own people. Listen carefully to everything He tells you.’ (23) Then Moses said, ‘Anyone who will not listen to that Prophet will be completely cut off from God’s people.’ (24) “Starting with Samuel, every prophet spoke about what is happening today.

Acts 2:16-40 NLT No, what you see was predicted long ago by the prophet Joel: (17) ‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out My Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. (18) In those days I will pour out My Spirit even on My servants–men and women alike–and they will prophesy. (19) And I will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below–blood and fire and clouds of smoke. (20) The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and glorious day of the LORD arrives. (21) But everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.’ (22) “People of Israel, listen! God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene by doing powerful miracles, wonders, and signs through Him, as you well know. (23) But God knew what would happen, and His prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed Him to a cross and killed Him. (24) But God released Him from the horrors of death and raised Him back to life, for death could not keep Him in its grip. (25) King David said this about Him: ‘I see that the LORD is always with Me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside Me. (26) No wonder My heart is glad, and My tongue shouts His praises! My body rests in hope. (27) For You will not leave My soul among the dead or allow Your Holy One to rot in the grave. (28) You have shown Me the way of life, and You will fill Me with the joy of Your presence.’ (29) “Dear brothers, think about this! You can be sure that the patriarch David wasn’t referring to himself, for he died and was buried, and His tomb is still here among us. (30) But he was a prophet, and he knew God had promised with an oath that one of David’s own descendants would sit on His throne. (31) David was looking into the future and speaking of the Messiah’s resurrection. He was saying that God would not leave Him among the dead or allow His body to rot in the grave. (32) “God raised Jesus from the dead, and we are all witnesses of this. (33) Now He is exalted to the place of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father, as He had promised, gave Him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today. (34) For David himself never ascended into heaven, yet he said, ‘The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit in the place of honor at My right hand (35) until I humble Your enemies, making them a footstool under Your feet.”‘ (36) “So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!” (37) Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” (38) Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (39) This promise is to you, and to your children, and even to the Gentiles–all who have been called by the Lord our God.” (40) Then Peter continued preaching for a long time, strongly urging all his listeners, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”
